FAQ
When is the best time to schedule a newborn session?
The best time for a newborn session is within the first two weeks of birth, ideally around 7-10 days old. This is when your baby is still sleepy and flexible, making it easier to capture those adorable, curled-up poses. However, I do offer sessions for older babies too if it doesn’t work out within this timeframe!
When is the best time to schedule a maternity session?
The ideal time for a maternity session is between 28-34 weeks of pregnancy, when your baby bump is nice and visible but you're still comfortable enough to pose. If you're carrying multiples or have other specific timing needs, just let me know, and we can adjust accordingly!
How long does a newborn session take?
Newborn sessions generally take about 2-3 hours, depending on how the baby is feeling. We take breaks for feeding, soothing, and changing diapers, so there's plenty of time for your little one to settle in. Patience is key!
Can I be in the photos with my newborn?
Absolutely! Family photos are a wonderful addition to a newborn session. Parents and siblings can be included, and I’ll guide you on posing to make it feel relaxed and natural.
What should I wear for the session?
For parents and siblings, I recommend simple, neutral colors that won’t distract from your baby. Soft tones, like whites, creams, or pastel colors, work beautifully.
Do I need to schedule the session in advance?
Yes! It’s always a good idea to book your newborn session while you’re still pregnant, so we can secure a spot. Once your baby arrives, we can set a specific date that works for you.
What if my baby doesn’t cooperate during the session?
No worries! Babies are unpredictable, and I’m used to working around their needs. We’ll take plenty of breaks for feeding, changing, and soothing. If your little one needs extra time to settle, we’ll go at their pace. It’s all about capturing the moments in a stress-free way!
What should I wear to my maternity session?
For your maternity session, I recommend wearing something that shows off your baby bump, like a fitted dress or something flowy that accentuates your shape. Soft, solid colors or light, neutral tones work best for a timeless look.
Can my partner and other children be included in the maternity session?
Absolutely! Maternity sessions are a perfect time to capture the excitement and anticipation of your growing family. Partners and siblings are always welcome to join, and I'll guide you to help make sure everyone feels comfortable and relaxed.
What should I bring to my maternity session?
Aside from any outfits you’d like to wear, bring anything that makes you feel comfortable—like a water bottle or a snack. You may also want to bring any props that are meaningful to you, like a baby onesie, shoes, or a special blanket. If you’d like, I can provide some guidance on what to bring to make your photos even more special.
